This little guy and his parents are particularly precious to us. We were delighted to spend a beautiful Portland summer evening with them in the first weeks after birth. He was quite a hungry guy so we had several mini photo sessions in between his meals and managed to get a fun variety of shots. Erin also had the opportunity to document the birth, which was an incredible experience. This is a kid who is going to be in our lives for a long time and we look forward to watching the Williams family grow and also capturing it through our camera lens, too.

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010More Sneakin’ and Peakin’
Saturday, May 15th, 2010The past couple of weeks have been chalk full with photo sessions, a photo show, and lots of work preparing our garden for summer. We have been busy working away in the “digital darkroom” getting things ready for our clients. They have seen some photo previews, but we wanted to show you all the fun we have been having!
The Staleys | Families
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010When’s the last time your family (like your parents and siblings) had professional photos? If I don’t count weddings, which is kind it’s own thing, I am pretty sure our family’s last professional photo was our church photo from 1992. Yes, I remember the bangs of myself and my sisters. Enough said–I don’t think we need to dig out that photo. It’s such fun to see adult children initiating family photo sessions and giving their folks a reason to take that circa 1992 family photo off the wall.
This afternoon session with the Staley’s was a Christmas gift from daughter, Rachelle. We were glad to have some sun breaks on a chilly December day out in the Yamhill County farm country. Can you tell who stole the show?
The Froeschers | Families
Sunday, April 4th, 2010It’s fun to see large family come together to celebrate. The Froescher family was celebrating quite a bit over the weekend of Thanksgiving. Not only were they celebrating the annual turkey and trimmings holiday, they were celebrating the anniversary of the Froescher parents, Lynn and Ken. In the midst of it all, they squeezed in a couple of hours with us–a gift honoring Lynn and Ken’s years together. Before everyone arrived, we ran around with Lora and Kenny and their kiddos getting a few snaps. I love the thoughtfulness of this gift, the time everyone took out of their holiday weekend to be there, and the location they chose (the farm/land/property of friends of theirs).
The McIntyres | Families
Thursday, April 1st, 2010Looks like we are finally getting to autumn… October to be exact, only five more months to catch you up on!
This family may be familiar to many of you who are in the Newberg area. The McIntyres have been friends of ours since the beginning of “us”. John and Nate have been friends since middle school, they lived together for stints both during and after college, John was in their wedding and Nate in ours. Each time we have the chance to hang out with them we leave saying, “We should do that more often!”
It was so fun to spend a crisp autumn evening with the four of them, trying to press the shutter quick enough to catch the two young boys in action. Here’s a few of our favorites:
The Greenes | Families
Saturday, March 20th, 2010This beautiful family oozed joy throughout the entire session–the two kids wore us out with their abundance of energy, but were a pure delight the entire time. We’re so thankful to have opportunities like this to see kids be adopted by families who can provide a life they could only have dreamed of having and give them love that they need and deserve. We do have a particular attachment to kids from Ethiopia, like these two, as the newest additions to our family have also come from Ethiopia. Thanks, Greenes, for inviting us to capture an afternoon with your family!

The Bradens | families
Thursday, March 18th, 2010The Braden family will forever hold the position as our first photo session with a family we didn’t know. Referred by a friend, we met up with them on the Nike campus for a late afternoon run around the grounds and had a fun couple of hours of playing. It took awhile for their son to warm up to the camera, but we were sure glad he did–what a cute smile! We are already looking forward to next year!
The Andersons | families
Saturday, March 13th, 2010We are so blessed to be related to this family. When John and I started dating there were four of them and now there are seven! The whole crew came out for a Labor Day weekend of family time with Oregon and Washington brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts. This was the first time most of us were getting to meet Addison and Paul, who joined the family in July, and it was a true delight.
The time we spent with them in the photo session, below, was one our our weekend highlights. They were incredible subjects–relaxed and ready to have a fun time. If it hadn’t been for sunset, we might have just spent all night hanging out, taking pictures, and laughing with them!

Oregon Family Time | kids & families
Saturday, March 6th, 2010We were so fortunate to have so much family time this summer! John’s sister and family traveled from Philadelphia to Oregon for some family time and to introduce their new son to much of the family. It was so great to have them local for a few days and even get to vacation with them at the coast and spend some much appreciated down time together. We’re so thankful for how many times we have been able to see them in the first year of little O.K.’s life… wait until you see photos from Christmas!
We just couldn’t get enough of this kid–he was probably overwhelmed with all of the aunts, uncles, and grandparents who had cameras in his face for the better part of his visit, but none of us could help ourselves!
Sweet Thing
Thursday, February 18th, 2010We do want to catch you up on the past months of photo sessions and will be doing so over the next few weeks (or months, depending on how long it takes), but first we want to share about a more recent photo session. Sweetest Thing CupCakes opened their doors in Newberg, Oregon in the fall and in January we had the opportunity to do a shoot with a local family. We arrived ahead of them and took the time to have a cupcake ourselves, but we couldn’t resist taking a few snaps of both the delicious cupcakes and also the tastefully decorated shop. We sent the photos to the owners and, as it turns out, they needed photos for their website and used ours. Check out their site at sweetestthingcupcakes.com or become a fan of their Facebook page.
If you’re looking for a great venue for a party, need catering for an event, or are a bride looking for a fun alternative to traditional cake, Sweetest Thing CupCakes is the place to go. It’s a fun location and a great place for a photo session–we look forward to shooting there again (and having the excuse to eat more cupcakes)!
