Will

We have been so lucky to have gotten to spend a reasonable amount time around this kid during his first five weeks of life. Despite all the “snapshots” we have taken of him here and there, an official newborn photo session was a must. This time it was on his turf and in his timing (which was pretty darn good for a newbie). This is Will at two weeks exactly. He is a precious and amazing addition to the family!

SNEAK PEEK: Newbies

Please meet Mr. Will and Miss Piper! Born six days apart and just about that many days between their newborn photo sessions. As sweet as can be! Much more to share very soon!

Gorge-ous!

We took the opportunity this weekend to get out of town for the afternoon and hit the Columbia River Gorge for some waterfall hiking. And since our girl was at her grandparents we had to find other material to photograph. We stopped at Elowah and Multnomah Falls (always a classic!) and with the winter rain both were plenty full and running strong. Man, I love where we live! I sometimes forget how quick it is to get out to the Gorge and how beautiful it is even in the winter. Plus, heading east provides a good excuse for going to the Grilled Cheese Grill!

Baby Macy

They say you can’t pick your family, but if we were picking, we’d pick these two, no question. Lucky us, they ARE family and dear, dear friends.

We enjoyed a brisk, damp January morning together capturing them in the last weeks before Baby Macy makes his/her appearance. They brought their own energy and ideas to the shoot and we had fun tromping around the wet field just across the street from their house. We have to give a shout out to our sidekick, Sage, who was along for the ride and was a grinning machine, encouraging some genuine laughter and smiles from her aunt and uncle.

The last nine months has been a joyous ride and I’d say they are ready to meet this coming baby–as are we! You guys have prepared so well and Baby Macy is going to be stoked to have you two as parents.

Stay tuned to the blog as we look forward to sharing pics of the wee one after s/he is born!

Joseph

Another great senior session! If you visit this site often you’ll notice that our subjects are often small tykes and, if you have kids of your own or have ever tried photographing kids, you know it requires energy and patience and a decent amount of chasing. Seniors, on the other hand generally do what you ask them to do–they smile when you say “smile”, sit where you ask them to sit, look at the camera at the right moments–they don’t run in the opposite direction or need incentives or coaxing or Erin jumping out from behind John making animal faces and noises. So, it’s fun to do senior sessions and have a more chilled out experience now and again.

Here’s a talented guy who is graduating from Newberg High School this Spring and planning to attend George Fox University in the Fall. Have fun in the last months of your senior year, Joseph!
