We have been out there the last two Octobers and it’s just great. Being only 15-20 minute drive from NW Portland, you wouldn’t believe how quickly you’re in rural Oregon. It’s beautiful! With every bend in the road there are farms, pumpkin patches, beaches, u-pick areas, and lots of flat road for biking. We were excited when the Kohl Family wanted to head that way for their session and we made sure to arrive early so we could enjoy Kruger’s Farm Market before we started. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful afternoon or great location!

When you get a chance, check out this family’s work and vision for food and nutrition justice in the Portland area. They are working hard in a much needed area of change.

Nothing forced about the fun, smiles, and laughter that emerged from this session. These guys are on our minds and hearts quite often and we were pleased to have another chance to document their family life. And, we had the perfect autumn day with golden light shining through the leaves and blue sky with no clouds. Lovely! It’s been nearly two years since our last photo session and the personality of these two kids has come alive in that time. Such fun to see! I think you’ll be able to pick some of that personality out, as well, as you enjoy this session!

Getting to see kids changing after a few months or a year is so fun! These kids are just getting cuter each time we see them. This photo session marked the one year birthday of the littlest Erickson. They are a fun bunch and she is lucky to have each of them. She is going to definitely have to learn to keep up or these boys will be leaving her in the dust! They are each so different and it was such fun to hang out for a Saturday morning. The incentive for these kids was a delicious doughnut from the famous Portland shop, Voodoo Doughnuts. Let me tell you, parents, we are all about incentives when it comes to photo sessions with kids! The kids held to their end of the bargain and I’m curious to know what doughnuts they chose as their reward… Thanks Perez Fam for a fun time and thanks also to Pinky and Laura for use of their home and neighborhood!

Great locations, great kids and parents, and for the most part great (or at least good) weather. On the last day of September, we enjoyed a particularly great evening light and had a fun time running around the grounds of Tilikum with the D Family. You can just see from the smiles how much these guys enjoy being together and how much they love each other. Just beautiful!
