And who loves this guy more than anyone else in the world? Pretty sure it’d be these two…

We got to spend a very foggy Saturday morning with this great family a few weeks back. I think all of us adults were slightly bummed the sun that had been expected was a bit delayed, but it certainly did not slow things down one bit. From the moment we were introduced, we were zipping around Mt. Tabor Park, checking out the play structure, exploring the flora and fauna, and RUNNING!

We got connected to the L Family through mutual friends, the Doughertys. The two families have gotten to know each other because of their mutual interest in cystic fibrosis (CF). We had a really fun time hanging out with you four–both times! So glad it worked out like it did and the Oregon weather was kind to us. You guys are doing a great job with those precious girls!

My sentimental side coming out, I suppose… As much as I value living in the present, I sure appreciate a “remember when” story. We became friends with the parents of this four person crew years ago during our Clif Bar phase of life. Two years ago they added Parker to the family and less than five weeks ago Miss Piper joined them. It was completely our pleasure to get to meet this new girl and welcome her into the world in Photo Macy style–with cameras up in her business. =) Jordan and Erica, another job well done! Miss Piper, you are going to have a great adventure of a life and so much love in this family!

 

Thanks for having us out! It was great to see you guys again and your growing family. You’re doing an awesome job! Keep up the good work!

Despite all the “snapshots” we have taken of him here and there, an official newborn photo session was a must. This time it was on his turf and in his timing (which was pretty darn good for a newbie). This is Will at two weeks exactly. He is a precious and amazing addition to the family!

Lucky us, they ARE family and dear, dear friends.

We enjoyed a brisk, damp January morning together capturing them in the last weeks before Baby Macy makes his/her appearance. They brought their own energy and ideas to the shoot and we had fun tromping around the wet field just across the street from their house. We have to give a shout out to our sidekick, Sage, who was along for the ride and was a grinning machine, encouraging some genuine laughter and smiles from her aunt and uncle.

The last nine months has been a joyous ride and I’d say they are ready to meet this coming baby–as are we! You guys have prepared so well and Baby Macy is going to be stoked to have you two as parents.

These guys were troopers once again on a chilly December afternoon, but Milo came well prepared with his warm sweater and matching hat. Maybe slightly embarrassed that Milo has a cuter Christmas outfit than my daughter, but…I’ll have to get to work on that one. Merry Christmas Darren, Kelly, and Milo!

A precious little guy who is growing and changing so much. I love how adoringly these parents look at their son in these photos. Can’t keep their eyes off of him and I can’t blame them! (We still have a hard time looking away from our daughter and she’s nine months now–don’t want to miss anything!) Baby D was about 5 weeks old for his first photo session and it was clearly no big deal for him. Congratulations, Parents! So glad to have had the chance to meet your new baby and capture his sweetness.

Our daughter, Sage, and her son, Ariy were due about 7 weeks apart from one another so we were able to check in with each other during the work day, comparing weird pregnancy symptoms and encouraging each other to try different things to help our ailments. We also made a point of meeting up about once every month or so to process together and swap notes on things we had been reading and learning. It’s been fun to keep connecting and watching each others kiddos change and grow, swap more advice, and hope that our kids become friends some day! Needless to say it was a joy to spend some time with the whole family and get a snapshot of Ariy at six months.

We have been out there the last two Octobers and it’s just great. Being only 15-20 minute drive from NW Portland, you wouldn’t believe how quickly you’re in rural Oregon. It’s beautiful! With every bend in the road there are farms, pumpkin patches, beaches, u-pick areas, and lots of flat road for biking. We were excited when the Kohl Family wanted to head that way for their session and we made sure to arrive early so we could enjoy Kruger’s Farm Market before we started. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful afternoon or great location!

When you get a chance, check out this family’s work and vision for food and nutrition justice in the Portland area. They are working hard in a much needed area of change.
