One would think working with over 40 people in a short period of time could be stressful, but the time we spent with the Bansen family was anything but. A breezy, but gorgeous afternoon at the beach was the back drop for our afternoon. We love the beach and were excited for the chance to shoot down at our favorite spot in Manzanita. It was a fun time capturing each family, some jumping action, and, of course, the kids. Thanks for letting us be a part of your day!
Bansen Family Reunion
September 4th, 2010HIPPIES
September 1st, 2010Earlier this summer I was asked to help fulfill a vision that Rachel Morell had to find an old bus, dress up in hippie clothes, and take a few pictures. I was lucky enough to get to work with Jonathan Morell of Jonathan David Photography and a all star cast that included Erin. We had a great time and I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
Andrea & Micah | Couple on a Mission
June 21st, 2010Erin has had the privilege of knowing and working with Andrea and through that relationship, hearing about her and, her husband, Micah’s vision to serve together as missionaries abroad. They have patiently waited for years for the right timing and the right openings and over the past months, things have been happening to move them closer to fulfilling their vision. Micah and Andrea are extremely well thought out in their approach to most things in their life and this is no exception. The amount of research, thinking, preparation and prayer that has gone into the decision to go to France amounts to a second full-time job for each of them!
It was a treat to take them out during the one of the few hours of no-rain we have had in the past months and have a fun photo shoot. They came with some fantastic props that help bring France to life–Andrea even sewed up a French flag! The hope is that these photos will help as they tell their story about how they got to this point in their lives and where they will be heading from here.
If you’re curious what they will be doing in France, take a look at their website/blog!
The Westervelts | Newborn
June 12th, 2010You may recognize this family from our maternity shoot just a few posts back. It was a delight to meet their new son and spend some time with the brand new parents. We feel it is a complete gift that we get to observe families and see the tiniest glimpse of their lives as they interact with one another. It’s amazing the amount of love that a parent has for their child so instantly and it was clear to us that his parents had completely fallen for this little guy.
Thank you, Westervelts, for having us back! The pleasure was ours!
The Schlotts | Family & Kids
June 8th, 2010This family session with the Schlotts was a fully “at home” session and it was so great. I think most folks are just more relaxed at home–in a space with which they are familiar and a place that has real significance. We have done parts of other sessions at people’s homes and each time we have found that things are pretty low-key. I don’t think there needs to be anything particular about your home to make it work. The Schlotts were definitely at ease in their own space and you could tell they spend a lot of time playing together. We’re planning to head back to their place so we can put the cameras down and just play for awhile!
Taylors | Maternity
May 29th, 2010We have really enjoyed getting the chance to capture new parents in the days and weeks before their babies come. It seems like a really special time as they are making the last preparations and anxiously waiting for their little one to arrive, holding their breath that all will be well. Despite being only a few days before their due date, the Taylors tromped around the grounds at Jenkins Estate with us and made being nine months pregnant look easy. Their little guy came about three days after our evening together and in the few weeks he’s been around is already a wonderful addition to their family who is loved greatly by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Four Years Old | Kids
May 20th, 2010What better way to celebrate your birthday than to have your very own photo shoot! We traipsed around Jenkins Estate with this sweet girl and her little brother, trying to capture what it’s like to be four. I don’t remember much about being four, but it seems like a pretty good age. You have an active imagination and definitely believe princesses are real (and possibly live on the grounds of the park–oops!), you still get a kick out of blowing and chasing bubbles, running at full speed in a skirt is still acceptable, your mom is right by your side when you hurt yourself on the playground, and you get gum as a reward for being a good kid. Pretty good life, I’d say.
Thanks for a fun afternoon, guys! Check out Facebook for more images from the shoot!
More Sneakin’ and Peakin’
May 15th, 2010The past couple of weeks have been chalk full with photo sessions, a photo show, and lots of work preparing our garden for summer. We have been busy working away in the “digital darkroom” getting things ready for our clients. They have seen some photo previews, but we wanted to show you all the fun we have been having!
Photo Show | Newberg ARTwalk
May 5th, 2010Newberg ARTwalk
Friday, May 7
5-9pm
Come one, come all! We are participating in this Friday’s Newberg ARTwalk, showing photographs at Pitter Patter Children’s Consignment. The display at Pitter Patter is in cooperation with local doulas, midwives, and a lactation consultant, Laura Dunn (who was kind enough to invite us to join in the event), who are highlighting International Doula Month and Pregnancy Awareness Month. Several interesting activities will be taking place during the evening including baby wearing demonstrations.
The ARTwalk-ing happens all over downtown Newberg and highlights local businesses, winemakers, musicians, and artists. It’s a fun community time and as the weather gets nicer it’s a great chance to get out and see what’s happening in our town.
Learn more about what’s going on at Pitter Patter on Facebook and let us know if you’re coming! If you can’t make it Friday, the photographs will be on display through the month of May.
Here’s a tiny peak at what you’ll see…
